Could Tony Blair’s hair loss treatment have induced his well publicised heart problems?

This really is food for thought, a recently released book by Lord David Owen "In Sickness and in Power: Illness in Heads of Government During the Last 100 Years" , suggests that the previous British Prime Minister Tony Blair's heart scare was caused by using a Minoxidil based hair loss treatment.
Did Tony Blair’s hair loss treatment induce heart problems?

Tony Blair’s highly-publicised heart scare in 2003 may have been caused by the hair loss medicine ‘Regaine’ also known as minoxidil. This claim was made in a new book called ‘In Sickness And In Power: Illness in Heads of Government During the Last 100 Years’ written by Lord David Owen, doctor and Foreign Secretary in the Labour Government in the late seventies.

According to top psychologist Corinne Sweet “a strong head of hair denotes potency and pulling power for men. Men in the public eye can be very self-conscious about their appearance, as a full head of hair can equate power, status and success.”

Why does Minoxidil (Rogaine) Work For Some People and Not Others

I've often wondered why Minoxidil does not always work for certain people and this video may go some way to explaining why. The video Illustrates that for some people a waxy substance called sebum can build up on the surface of the scalp preventing the Minoxidil from getting to the hair root. This product apparently contains a substance that dissolves the sebum allowing the Minoxidil to work more effectively.
